1) When doing digital art with detailed backgrounds you can use google sketch up for a quick 3D model.
2) When doing digital art, Max draws them in pencil digitally, prints it out, inks by hand and then scans it and colours digitally. This has the added benefit of allowing him to sell the original art for additional revenue
